Belarus, Vietnam considering joint production of firefighting vehicles, gear

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov met with Director of the International Relations Department of the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam Dang Huang Hong, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Vietnam told BelTA.

Heads of the relevant agencies and enterprises run by the Public Security Ministry were also present during the meeting. Practical steps in starting the joint production of Belarusian special-purpose vehicles and gear for Vietnamese firefighters in Vietnam were discussed.

An agreement was reached on setting up a bilateral working group to determine specifications of the necessary equipment and arrange the signing of the relevant contracts.

The Belarusian ambassador had previously met with Minister of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam. The sides discussed prospects of Belarus-Vietnam cooperation in law enforcement, the exchange of visits of the relevant agencies, and personnel training.
