Belarus, UK discuss prospects for military cooperation
MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – United Kingdom Ministry of Defense Director for International Security Policy Nick Gurr is in Minsk on an official visit on 19-20 April, BelTA learned from the UK Embassy in Belarus.
Nick Gurr met with Oleg Voinov, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department at Belarus’ Defense Ministry, Defense Minister’s Aide for International Military Cooperation. During the meeting the parties discussed Belarus-UK bilateral military cooperation.
Nick Gurr also visited the Belarusian Military Academy and met with academy’s senior officials.
Belarus-UK cooperation has strengthened over the last year. The Belarusian and UK ministries of defense carry out joint projects to teach English to Belarusian specialists and exchange experience in peacekeeping operations.
