Belarus’ top building contractor in negotiations on projects in Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – OAO MAPID is about to export its products and services to more countries. MAPID is already working in Russia and Lithuania while negotiations on projects in Poland, Latvia, Estonia, and Slovakia are in progress, BelTA learned from MAPID Director General Nikolai Miloshevsky during a conference in the Minsk City Executive Committee on 30 October.

According to the source, MAPID works hard in Lithuania. The Belarusian company has already signed six contracts worth €820,000. Work is in progress to consider the construction of low-storey buildings in Poland using MAPID structural parts. Negotiations are in progress to penetrate the markets of Latvia, Estonia, and Slovakia.

MAPID can fulfill contracts in Europe after it was certified to do construction and installation work in the European Union. Reinforced concrete products and reinforcement units had to be certified in Vilnius, Lithuania so that the Belarusian company could ship them to the European Union member states. MAPID is busy building loadbearing structures of a hotel in Vilnius for €579,000 and reinforcing the false front of a guest complex for €169,000.

The construction of facilities in Russia’s Kaluga Oblast and Vladimir Oblast will continue in 2017. Negotiations are underway on projects in Moscow Oblast, Leningrad Oblast, and Smolensk Oblast. “We have signed a contract for building a school in Vladimir Oblast for RUB713 million,” added the MAPID director general.

OAO MAPID is Belarus’ largest civil engineering company. The company is implementing a development concept for 2017-2019. It is designed to secure the competitive ability of MAPID products with regard to solid-cast housing construction and small-series housing construction. It will preserve MAPID’s share in the Minsk city construction services market at 50% at least, with the share on the national construction services market at 15% at least. MAPID intends to stay strong on the market of public welfare homes and enter new markets by promoting new products thanks to the modernization of its manufacturing facilities. The company will also use the existing physical infrastructure as much as possible while focusing on custom-made homes, new architectural forms and technology solutions.
