Belarus to take part in BakuBuild 2021 exhibition

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – The exposition Made in Belarus will be presented at the 26th international construction exhibition BakuBuild which is to take place in the capital of Azerbaijan on 20-22 October, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Attending the event will be five companies from Belarus, which are to display products and services necessary for the development of the construction industry in Azerbaijan. In particular, Energokomplekt company will demonstrate cable products and wires of various specifications. Belenergoremnaladka and Belektromontazhnaladka, the enterprises of the Belenergo production association, will showcase technologies for reliable and economical operation of energy facilities, measuring and automation equipment, vacuum switches and other equipment.

The research and production company OKB TSP will offer its own innovative technology for the construction of arch structures for various purposes. Using this technology the company has already built 19 industrial buildings in Azerbaijan.

Belgazstroy will present services for the construction and installation of engineering, transport and trunk infrastructure. “The company is taking part in the exhibition online. Azerbaijani visitors to the exhibition, if interested in the services or products of a particular company, will be able to negotiate with its representatives via video link. This will help establish direct contact and agree on cooperation and supplies,” the exhibition company said.

According to Belinterexpo, Belarusian construction companies delivered $3.5 million worth of products to Azerbaijan in H1 2021, which is 2.2 times up if compared to the same period in 2020. The main exports of the Belarusian construction companies to Azerbaijan were reinforced concrete structures and metal structures, equipment and spare parts. There is also a high demand for the Belarusian crystal glass in Azerbaijan.

“The construction sector of Azerbaijan is of significant interest to Belarusian companies. This sector ranks second after the oil sector in terms of state investments. There is also a high demand for sawn timber in the country, and there is a simplified tax for companies in the industry. Azerbaijan is also a profitable destination in terms of re-export of goods and has a special place in China's Belt and Road global logistics project. Thanks to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad, which was built in 2017, the delivery time of goods from China to Europe and back through Azerbaijan has been reduced by half compared with sea transportation. Plans are in place to transport more than 17 million tonnes of cargo annually,” the company said. Belinterexpo specialists added that such opportunities contribute to the promotion of goods from Europe to Central Asian countries - Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

“It is expected that Belarusian companies will take part in designing settlements and reconstructing the transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan,” the company said.

BakuBuild is Azerbaijan’s biggest construction exhibition. In 2019 the exhibition welcomed 225 companies from 19 countries, including Germany, Russia, the United States, Turkey, China, Ukraine. The event is held with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Building and a number of other agencies and companies.

The Made in Belarus exposition at the BakuBuild exhibition is organized by the Belinterexpo exhibition company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Belarusian embassy in Azerbaijan.
