Belarus to showcase over 100 R&D projects at China Import Expo

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - More than 100 scientific, technological and innovation projects in the information and communication technologies (ICT), healthcare, biotechnology, new materials, agriculture will be displayed online by the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus at the China International Import Expo, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Aleksandr Shumilin said at the opening of the exhibition, BelTA has learned.

According to him, leading institutions and organizations of the Education Ministry, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Healthcare Ministry will demonstrate their achievements and technologies at the collective stand of the Committee. The National Scientific and Practical Center for Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnology will exhibit anti-COVID immunoglobulin for treatment of patients with severe form of COVID-19 infection, as well as patients with viral encephalitis and meningoencephalitis. The Belarusian National Technical University will showcase a unique acoustic system for the treatment of skin cancer, which is more effective than traditional methods. The National Academy of Sciences will present an office supercomputer, which is small in size but provides complex scientific calculations and processes large amounts of data. The Belarusian State University will demonstrate plant protection products based on natural components that can be used in organic farming.

Belarus-China relations in science and innovation are vibrant. In recent years, both the number and scope of joint scientific and technical projects have increased, and today we present world-class developments at the China International Import Expo,” Aleksandr Shumilin said. He also said that the third meeting of the Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation is scheduled for 19 November 2020. It is planned that the Minister of Science and Technology of China Wang Zhigang will take part in its work.
 
Belarus’ National Exposition as part of the Third China International Import Expo will be held online through 14 January 2021. It will be available on the interactive exhibition platform www.temex2020.com, where Belarusian manufacturers will be able to demonstrate to Chinese business a wide range of products and services.
