MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Food export will be redirected to other markets, problems with transit are being resolved, BelTA learned from Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo before a session of the Council of Ministers’ Presidium on 2 March.

The official said: “Certainly, the situation is not simple. Although Europe didn’t buy a lot from us, it was over $300 million. Shipments to Ukraine were close to $240 million. We arrange videoconferences with our meat and milk processing enterprises every day. We’ve practically rerouted our dairy and meat flows from Ukraine to Russia already.”

Igor Brylo noted that there is also the problem of transit across Ukraine, in particular, via the Odessa port. “Our products were shipped via this route to third countries, in particular, China. The issue of transit by rail via Russia to China is supposed to be resolved today or tomorrow. We are working on the issue,” the agriculture and food minister noted.
