Belarus to increase supplies of BelAZ trucks, harvesters to Mongolia

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Belarus plans to increase the supplies of BelAZ trucks and harvesters to Mongolia, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media after the meeting with Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar on 4 June, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei stated that the Belarusian-Mongolian trade is not developing in its best way at present. “Today we have talked over the issues of trade and economic cooperation, which potential is big,” the minister of foreign affairs said.

In his words, the role of the intergovernmental commission is important and its activity contributes to building contacts. According to Vladimir Makei, the mutual trade may increase severalfold in the near future.

The minister of foreign affairs also spoke about the increase in supplies of equipment to Mongolia, including the sale of BelAZ vehicles. Belarus has been supplying to Mongolia its tractors, and also began shipping Gomselmash harvesters.

“We agreed to take a closer look at the prospects of cooperation in agriculture, especially given that Mongolia has been actively developing livestock. We also agreed to consider setting up a joint venture to process agricultural products,” Vladimir Makei said.
