Belarus to increase machinery supplies to Pakistan

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus plans to increase the supplies of its machinery to Pakistan. The corresponding agreements were reached during a visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Korchik to Pakistan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Pakistan.

The parties agreed to increase the supplies of Belarusian machinery, especially, agricultural one, to the provinces of Pakistan. Representatives of the two states confirmed the interest in developing cooperation ties between Belarus and Pakistan.

The Belarusian delegation comprised representatives of the country’s leading companies, including MAZ and MTZ, and also machine-tool companies. During the visit which took place on 17-20 February the Belarusian delegation held meetings with representatives of Pakistan’s industry and Armed Forces. The Belarusian representatives held talks with Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production Azher Ali Choudhry and Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research Mehboob Sultan. The Belarusian delegation also met with representatives of the leading economic structures of the Pakistani army.

According to the embassy, the visit was a continuation of the agreements reached during the talks of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of Pakistan Zubair Mahmood Hayat in Minsk in December 2018.
