Belarus to deliver 550 MAZ vehicles to Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus will deliver 550 MAZ vehicles to Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin said as he summed up the results of the working visit of the Belarusian delegation to Turkmenistan, BelTA has learned.

In 2013 Belarus delivered over 2,500 items of equipment to Turkmenistan. After that the volume of deliveries has decreased. There is a task to exceed the level of 2013, the vice premier said.

In his words, the construction of the service center for Belarusian equipment in Ashgabat will be finished soon. It is the advancement to a higher level as the service center will not only sell equipment, but also provide maintenance services.

Anatoly Kalinin stressed that the quality of Belarusian equipment delivered to Turkmenistan has improved. The proposals of Turkmenistan partners have been taken into account. “The climate here is special, the conditions are rather complicated, that is why we met our Turkmenistan partners halfway and introduced a number of amendments in the manufacture of equipment designed for this market. We have taken the wishes of agrarians regarding the composition of equipment, installation of conditioning systems, etc. into account,” the vice premier explained.

Belarusian equipment sells well and it is good, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said. “Farmers want to use our equipment, they purchase it more willingly than European brands,” Anatoly Kalinin said.

Two service centers for the maintenance of Belarusian equipment will be opened in Turkmenistan. There are plans to set up such centers in every region of the country within 2-3 years.

The vice premier added that leasing, delay of payments, commodity loans and other favorable terms of delivery have been developed.

Of course, the competition on the Turkmenistan market is increasing. It encourages the Belarusian side to improve the quality of products. “We offer such services which our rivals lack. These include various services, a broad network for the maintenance of equipment, delivery of spare parts, training of workers. The wide range of proposals is our advantage,” the vice premier believes. He said that Belarusian equipment has a priority position on the market of Turkmenistan. “We will achieve success in the near future,” Anatoly Kalinin said.
