Belarus suggests vocational training center project to Tajikistan

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to suggest the establishment of a resource center for the vocational education system to Tajikistan, BelTA learned from Belarusian Education Minister Igor Karpenko.

The official said: “We have quite many interesting practices in this regard, including teaching materials and ending with technologies and equipment, which can be used as part of the education process.”

The matter was also discussed during negotiations of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on 1 December. A resource center may be opened at premises of a vocational school in Tajikistan in order to offer advanced training to blue-collar workers.

According to Igor Karpenko, Belarus-Tajikistan relations in education advance dynamically. A rather broad legal base has been created not only within the framework of the bilateral relations but also within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Among other things the legal base regulates the mutual recognition of university diplomas and cooperation in various kinds of education. At present about 530 students from Tajikistan are taught in Belarusian universities. Belarusian universities have signed over 40 agreements with universities in Tajikistan. The two sides cooperate not only in personnel training. Joint scientific research projects and exchange programs are implemented.

“We intend to sign an agreement on cooperation of the education ministries in preschool education in 2018. The document is going through the approval process now. This topic is interesting for Tajikistan because this network is quite well developed in Belarus and we have many good practices, including education programs,” said the Belarusian education minister.

Belarus also suggested a number of initiatives concerning youth policy and the development of contacts between universities to Tajikistan.
