MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus suggests joint projects in agriculture and mechanical engineering to Mozambique. The matter was discussed at the ministerial consultations of the two countries on 18 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting discussed the ways to intensify the whole range of bilateral relations, first of all, in the economic sector. “The parties also talked over promising areas of business partnership, considered Belarus’ initiatives on the implementation of joint projects in agriculture and food, mechanical engineering and energy,” noted representatives of the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The consultations took place as part of the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov to Mozambique. The Mozambican delegation at the consultations was headed by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nyeleti Mondlane.
Belarusian businessmen held talks with potential partners in Mozambique. “The program of the visit also included meetings between the representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique as well as a business matchmaking session between businessmen of the two countries,” the Belarusian ministry added.
The Belarusian delegation comprised representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, several Belarusian industrial companies, including OAO Promagroleasing and OAO MAZ.
The Belarusian delegation met with Mozambique Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Jose Pacheco, members of the political bureau of the ruling party Frelimo, and other officials.
