MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Belarus now exports poultry meat to China, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, during the third export forum Meat Belarus.

According to the source, in January-September 2018 Belarus exported 125,000 tonnes of poultry meat to the tune of $186 million to 14 countries across the globe. Shipments to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Georgia are on the rise. Belarusian poultry meat has been certified for export to China. As much as 207 tonnes has been delivered so far. “By the end of the year we intend to expand the choice of the products we are allowed to sell to China with some parts of birds, which were not on the initial list. By doing so, we will greatly improve our position on this market,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.

In January-September 2018 Belarus exported over 110,000 tonnes of beef worth $401 million primarily to Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. The delivery of 116 tonnes of beef worth $540,000 to China was described as a major accomplishment of the year.
