Belarus, Spain agree on business forum in Madrid

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Spain have agreed to hold the Belarusian-Spanish business forum in Madrid. The agreement was reached during the ministerial consultations between Belarus and the Kingdom of Spain, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna. The Spanish delegation was headed by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ignacio Ybanez Rubio.

The parties discussed the issues of bilateral relations, and also the interaction between Belarus and the European Union. Particular attention was paid to the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, improvement of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation in the economic and legal fields.

Agreements were reached on a number of events aimed at enhancing cooperation between the business communities of the two countries. A decision was taken to arrange a number of events in the field of culture in 2016.

The Belarusian and Spanish delegations also discussed the cooperation within international organizations.
