Belarus showcases industrial, agricultural potential to Burkina Faso

MOSCOW, 24 October (BelTA ) – Belarus presented its industrial and agricultural potential to representatives of Burkina Faso’s business community, currently visiting Moscow. The event took place at the Business and Cultural Complex of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia on 23 October, the embassy’s press service told BelTA.

“Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Belarus [in Russia] Darya Shmanai highlighted the intensification of Belarus’ engagement with African states. She expressed hope that the development of B2B contacts will have a positive impact on bilateral trade. Information was presented to the business representatives from Burkina Faso about leading Belarusian machine-building enterprises that produce a wide range of equipment,” the press service said.

The delegation from Burkina Faso was also briefed on Belarus’ practical achievements in agriculture, with an emphasis on dairy and meat products. Information was provided on Belarusian-made animal feed and additives, as well as fertilizers that can be used to improve soil fertility.

According to the minister-counselor of the Burkina Faso Embassy in Russia, the country is working to ensure food security. The diplomat expressed the view that Belarus’ experience in this area could be useful.

Representatives of Burkina Faso’s business community also showed interest in opportunities for cooperation with Belarus in culture and education.
