Belarus, Serbia discussing joint manufacturing facilities

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Serbia are discussing the setting up of joint manufacturing facilities and transfer of technologies in Belgrade on 15-16 March, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.

“On 15-16 March Belgrade is hosting the seventh meeting of the joint Belarusian-Serbian commission for sci-tech cooperation. The commission is due to consider issues related to the state, trends and plans for developing sci-tech and innovation areas of Belarus and Serbia, update the list of promising areas of joint activity between scientists of the two countries. The parties are also expected to discuss the setting up of joint manufacturing facilities and the intensification of the transfer of technologies in the most promising cooperation areas,” the press service said.

According to the State Science and Technology Committee, the parties are set to sign the final protocol and the executive program of the Belarusian-Serbian sci-tech cooperation for 2016-2017. Attending the event on Belarus’ behalf is Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Piotr Baltrukovich.

The program of the visit will also include meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the University of Belgrade, companies (technological parks) producing high-technology and innovative products, and other organizations. “The meeting of the commission will help intensify the Belarusian-Serbian cooperation in science and technology,” the committee said.
