MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Mordovia have agreed to begin work on a cooperation agreement in intellectual property, the Belarusian National Center for Intellectual Property (NCIP) told BelTA.
A delegation from the Republic of Mordovia, including Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship Minister Ivan Gorin, Acting Minister of Industry, Science and New Technologies Aleksandr Davydkin, and Director General of Technopark‑Mordovia Piotr Volkov, visited the NCIP.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas and prospects for cooperation in intellectual property. They agreed to start drafting a cooperation agreement in this field and to provide information support for relevant initiatives. In addition, the Belarusian side invited their colleagues from Mordovia to join the IP Exchange project (a platform for sharing data on technologies with commercial potential and for promoting scientific and technical developments) and to participate in the development of the technology and innovation support centers and NCIP training programs.
Belarus and Russia are actively developing bilateral scientific, technical, and innovation cooperation, primarily within the framework of Union State programs and projects. According to NCIP Director General Aleksei Kurman, Belarus and Mordovia have stable trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural ties within the Union State, supported at the highest political level in both countries.
The main areas of cooperation include: manufacturing industry and mechanical engineering (enterprise cooperation, supply of equipment and components), agriculture and breeding (livestock development, agro‑cooperation), scientific and technical cooperation and joint projects in construction and engineering, cultural and humanitarian initiatives, regional contacts, and municipal partnerships.
