MOSCOW, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia intend to form a common market of dairy products, Russian media outlets quote Russia’s First Deputy Agriculture Minister Dzhambulat Khatuov as saying, BelTA informs.
The first consultations on this topic will take place in Moscow on 11 April.
“We need to have consultations on a common dairy market with our Belarusian colleagues. We will analyze production costs in Russia and Belarus, look through the whole list of companies processing milk, examine the background in using technologies in the recent years, and take other measures,” the official said.
In his words, the most important thing is to set the volume of dairy supplies for 2018. “We believe that Russia and Belarus will be satisfied,” Dzhambulat Khatuov added.
When commenting on the information on Belarus-Russia relations in the dairy industry, he stressed that the attempts “to associate our current business contacts with some controversies” must be resisted.
