Belarus ready to consider India’s participation in production of compound fertilizers

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to consider the participation of India in the production of compound fertilizers, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich, who is in charge of Belarus’ cooperation with India, said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur, BelTA has learned.

Belarus is the leading supplier of potash fertilizers on the Indian market. “We may consider the issues of not only the sale of potash fertilizers but also the possible participation of India in the production of compound fertilizers,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. He added that this issue is not excluded in the negotiations with Indian partners.

“We have clear intentions to deepen cooperation in the potash and mineral fertilizers industry,” the speaker said.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the current contract to supply Belarusian potash fertilizers to India is expiring in the coming months. In his words, the new contract for 2018-2019 will come into force in June. The chairman of the Council of the Republic stressed that Belarus values highly the current level of business contacts with Indian partners. “The parties have never let each other down,” the speaker added.
