Belarus, Qatar mull over joint industrial projects

 MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov held a working meeting with Chargé d'Affaires of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Belarus Homoud Saleh Al-Saadi. During the meeting, the parties discussed possible options for joint industrial projects, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ Industry Ministry.

The main focus of the talks was on prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the manufacturing industry, including the supply of equipment from Belarusian enterprises to Qatar and the implementation of industrial projects.

The minister expressed confidence that Belarus and Qatar have significant potential for cooperation in the manufacturing industry. He recalled that promising areas of cooperation, including the possibility of assembling Belarusian electric buses, have already been reviewed with the deputy ministers of commerce and industry and municipality during a visit to Doha in February this year. In this regard, Andrei Kuznetsov emphasized Belarus’ interest in implementing strategic initiatives to establish joint production facilities.

For his part, the chargé d’affaires thanked Belarus for the opportunity to attend the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus in Minsk, giving it high praise: “I am impressed by the level of industrial development [in Belarus] and intend to visit a number of the country’s industrial sites, as well as other similar exhibitions,” he said.

Homoud Saleh Al-Saadi also gave a positive assessment of cooperation prospects and expressed readiness to support initiatives to expand trade and industrial ties between Belarus and Qatar.

Special attention was paid to possible joint production projects that could strengthen the economic ties of the two countries and enhance their bilateral export potential.

The parties agreed to continue dialogue and exchange business proposals in the near future, as well as to organize additional events to support and promote joint projects.
