MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus has manufactured its 200,000th BELGEE car. The milestone vehicle is a BELGEE X50+ urban crossover in blue metallic, BELGEE told BelTA.
All 200,000 vehicles were produced at the plant near Borisov. In just a few years, the BELGEE brand has become one of the leaders not only in Belarus but also on the neighboring Russian market.
“Producing 200,000 vehicles is a major milestone for Belarus, and we have already reached it. This demonstrates the high level of trust in the brand, valued for its quality and reliability. The country now has its own world-class production facility with a full passenger-car manufacturing cycle. We continue to grow rapidly and expand our production,” the company noted.
A major modernization was completed at the plant a year ago, aimed at improving product quality, increasing capacity, introducing modern technologies, and enhancing production efficiency and environmental performance. A stamping workshop of more than 5,000 sq. m is currently under construction on the BELGEE site. It will produce large exterior body components, including front and rear doors, side panels, fenders, trunk lids, hoods, roofs, and other parts.
In Belarus, the BELGEE brand is represented by four models: the S50 sedan and three crossovers (the mid-size X70, the hybrid X80 PHEV, and the urban X50+). Production includes welding, painting, and assembly, with all processes carried out using advanced equipment from international brands. The plant’s capacity allows for up to 120,000 vehicles per year.
The anniversary BELGEE X50+ crossover is built on a modern modular platform. It is compact and maneuverable, yet offers a spacious interior. The car is equipped with a four-cylinder 174-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection. It is paired with a seven-speed pre-selective transmission with a dual wet clutch. In Belarus, the model is available in three versions: Comfort, Luxury, and Flagship.
