MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin visited key production facilities of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) on 6 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
Focusing on the production of high-capacity, energy-intensive machinery that drives the company’s exports, the prime minister toured the mechanical assembly facility for the flagship BELARUS 3522 model. The plant has been tasked with producing more than 90 of these units monthly from January. The model undergoes ongoing enhancements per the requirements of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the key customer. MTZ is prepared for this rate, with assembly conducted on a two-shift basis and supporting part production running on three shifts.
A visit to the experimental production shop was of particular interest. Aleksandr Turchin was shown the full cycle of creating a new model - the BELARUS 5425 tractor with over 500 horsepower. Currently, the plant is preparing to release the second serial tractor of this model following the successful launch of the first one. The assembly of five tractors is planned to be completed by the end of May. The prime minister set the task for these tractors to undergo trial operation at major agricultural enterprises in Belarus. This will allow for all feedback to be considered and for serial production of this model to commence in 2027.
Aleksandr Turchin tasked the management of MTZ to create the production capacity for the serial manufacturing of the BELARUS 5425 tractor within the year 2026.
