Belarus plans to start assembling farm machines in Tajikistan in 2016

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - Belarus plans to set up joint assembly of agricultural machinery in Tajikistan in 2016, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Tajikistan and concurrently to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Oleg Ivanov told reporters, BelTA has learned.

According to the Ambassador, the task set out for this year is to start joint assembling of agricultural machinery in the town of Hisor and to select a site for the assembly manufacture of Minsk tractors. “This is not simple assembling. This also involves the training of specialists and new technologies, which will tailor our machines to local conditions,” he said. Oleg Ivanov added that this will help consolidate the Belarusian-Tajik relations on a long-term basis.

The diplomat noted that the head of state emphasized cooperation with Afghanistan and set out a number of specific tasks.
