MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – Belarus plans to set up joint ventures in Libya, Head of the Bellibtrade enterprise Anatoly Linevich told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“We will share our knowledge, technologies and skills to show how to work in agriculture efficiently. I am confident we will see results soon,” the head of the enterprise said. “We will try to help feed the people of Libya. To grow wheat and make bread for people.”

Speaking about joint ventures, Anatoly Linevich explained that they will focus on crop production. There are also plans to set up a dairy complex and a poultry farm in Libya, but these are more long-term plans.

The parties are also discussing the possibility of setting up an assembly plant. Yet, now they are working out supply agreements. “A number of contracts have already been signed with our state-owned enterprises, including MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ, and Gomselmash. We will need to supply equipment in the near future,” Anatoly Linevich noted.
As BelTA reported earlier, the opening of the Libyan trade mission in Minsk took place during the visit of a Libyan government delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army Saddam Khalifa Haftar. Anatoly Linevich noted that this is important for making prompt decisions and addressing various matters in fostering cooperation.
