Belarus plans to launch export of fish, baby food to China

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Belarus intends to obtain certificates to export fish, serum for technical purposes, and baby food to China in 2019, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry Aleksei Bogdanov told journalists as he attended the 5th export forum Dairy Belarus on 17 April.

“We intend to sign two new contracts to supply fish and serum for technical purposes to China,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.

In 2019, the countries plan to come to an agreement regarding supplies of beef and poultry by-products, some finished products, and flour. “Belarus will also start exporting baby food to China soon. We have been working on it for almost a year,” Aleksei Bogdanov noted. “We hope that Chinese inspectors will come to Belarus in June to assess Belarusian baby food [produced by Bellakt company]. We are planning to complete the certification process by the end of this year,” he added.

Five poultry factories have obtained China export certificates. These are Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky, Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory, Poultry Plant Druzhba, Servolux, and Smolevichi Broiler. Veles-Meat and Mogilev Meat Packing Plant have been certified to export beef to China. Some 50 dairy companies also export their products to China.

The 5th export forum Dairy Belarus is taking place in Minsk on 17-19 April. The forum has been organized by the food industry magazine Produkt.by with assistance of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
