Belarus plans to export broiler meat to China

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarusian broiler farms have plans to obtain certificates to sell to the Chinese market, Belarus Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats told the media on the sidelines of the international agricultural expo Belagro 2017 on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“We have boosted our supplies to the Chinese market. On 16 June, we will welcome specialists from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China who will conduct accreditation inspections at our meat processing plants. In July, we will sign an agreement that will enable Belarusian companies to supply beef to the Chinese market. Our broiler farms will undergo procedures to get certificates for selling broiler meat to China,” Leonid Zayats said. He added that 34 dairy enterprises have certificates for supplying milk to the Chinese market.

The minister stated that Belarus is working hard to diversify its agricultural exports. “Last year, we sold $3.1 million worth of products to the promising markets. In January-April 2017, our exports amounted to $5.6 million, and we have no plans to stop at this point,” Leonid Zayats emphasized.

The minister noted that the countries that consume Belarusian products praise their high quality.
