Belarus-Pakistan trade, economic commission to sit in Pakistan in March

MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – The 4th session of the Belarus-Pakistan commission for trade and economic cooperation will take place in Pakistan in March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Pakistan.

The preparations for the session were discussed at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Yermolovich and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi. The sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, including the implementation of agreements which were reached during the top-level visits.

The parties discussed concrete aspects of interaction between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the bilateral contacts between Belarus and Pakistan in general. In particular, they reached an agreement on the visit of the big Belarusian agribusiness delegation to Pakistan to discuss the establishment of joint dairy and halal meat enterprises.

With the assistance of Belarus’ light industry concern Bellegprom, the sides are going to organize the visit of the Pakistani delegation to Minsk to study the prospects of setting up joint ventures in the light industry. Besides, the representatives of the biggest pharmaceutical companies of Pakistan are expected to arrive in Minsk.
