Belarus, Namibia to set up committee on economic cooperation

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Namibia to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa on 24 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties paid special attention to the development of the legal framework and the establishment of a joint intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation,” the press service said.

Sergei Aleinik and Ambassador Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa discussed the state of and prospects for Belarus-Namibia relations. They agreed that it is important to increase mutual trade, the press service added.

BelTA reported earlier that Aleksandr Lukashenko received credentials of ambassadors of Namibia, Bangladesh, Israel, Cambodia, China, Pakistan, and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on 24 November.

During the credentials ceremony, the head of state stressed that Belarus is a reliable partner for the countries that the ambassadors represent. “We have something to offer you for cooperation,” the president said.
