MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Myanmar are working on a cooperation roadmap, Myanmar’s Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Wah Wah Maung said at the second meeting of the joint Belarus-Myanmar committee on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.
The minister stressed that although it was her first visit to Belarus, she felt at home here.
Wah Wah Maung believes that the friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries help step up Belarus-Myanmar cooperation. The work of the joint committee is also meant to invigorate contacts between the two countries in all areas.
“We are working on a cooperation roadmap and we are now negotiating on it,” she said. The minister specified that agriculture, pharmaceutics, and fertilizer production were among avenues of cooperation. According to her, working groups were set up to implement the agreements in agriculture, and their meetings took place during this visit.
Wah Wah Maung also noted that the delegation includes representatives of healthcare, industry, and the Central Bank, and they are in talks with their Belarusian counterparts.
