Valentin Rybakov met with Moroccan Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics Aziz Rabbah to talk over the opportunities and prospects for the participation of Belarusian enterprises in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Morocco, and also the organization of a regional exhibition of Belarusian products in the country. The parties agreed to consider the possibility of an exchange of visits of transport ministers and business delegations between Belarus and Morocco.

The first round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries took place during the visit. The Moroccan delegation was headed by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Burita. The parties discussed a wide range of matters of the Belarus-Morocco cooperation, including the organization of an exchange of visits of the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The invitation of Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei to visit Belarus was handed over to Nasser Burita.

The sides expressed satisfaction over the reached level of cooperation in international organizations. They also discussed ways to expand the legal framework of cooperation and intensify the bilateral ties in economy and trade, including through the creation of an intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

Valentin Rybakov met with representatives of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Morocco, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Casablanca, and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises. The parties talked over ways to strengthen the cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, including through exchanges of business visits, establishment of a business council, and organization of an exhibition of Belarusian products in Morocco.

During the visit, the Belarusian delegation also held a meeting with senior executive staff of the phosphate mining company OCP Group. The participants discussed the possibility of using Belarusian BelAZ vehicles in the company’s mines, the status of implementation of the previously signed agreements, and the prospects of concluding new arrangements.
