Belarus’ Mogilev Oblast, China’s Shaanxi Province sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee and the Department of Commerce of China’s Shaanxi Province have signed an agreement of intent to promote economic development and friendly cooperation. The document was signed by Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Viktor Nekrashevich and Director General of the Department of Commerce of Shaanxi Province Zhao Runmin on 4 April, BelTA learned from the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee. 

The two-year agreement provides for the parties to develop trade and economic partnership, render support and information assistance to companies interested in investing and establishing import-export relations. The document also envisages a delegation exchange.

According to the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, an official delegation of the region paid a business visit to China in November 2018 to attend the events of the 25th Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo. Then, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding to develop twin-town relations.

Viktor Nekrashevich emphasized the need to for more projects. The Mill of Success investment forum which is due in Mogilev in late June can become a good opportunity to build up contacts. Mogilev is also set to host the Mogilev-China Week of Regional Cooperation in September 2019.

“We hope that representatives of Shaanxi Province will take an active part in these business events. We are ready to provide extensive support to any mutually beneficial good practices with Chinese partners,” Viktor Nekrashevich said.

The visit of the Chinese representatives included tours of FEZ Mogilev and the Mogilev Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presentations of the region’s investment projects and talks with the Mogilev Oblast economic entities.
