Belarus, Laos ready to strengthen economic ties

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and concurrently to Laos Vladimir Goshin met with senior officials of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Planning and Investment on 13 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Vladimir Goshin and Lao Deputy Foreign Minister Khamphao Ernthavanh discussed the state and prospects of enhancing bilateral relations in all areas. The parties noted the need for expanding the legal framework of the cooperation and agreed to intensify the process of harmonizing the documents under consideration.

The Belarusian Ambassador and the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment reviewed the implementation of the protocol of the joint commission and the preparations for the third meeting of the Lao-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation. The parties also discussed setting a joint laboratory to study the quality of mineral resources of Laos and the forms of crediting the Belarusian exports to Laos.
