MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) - The trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan grew by 24% in 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov said during the sectoral forum Belarus Meat Industry in Minsk on 16 April, BelTA has learned.

As for the structure of bilateral trade, Belarus prioritizes beef and processed meat products. “Kazakhstan supplies us with metals, machine components, cosmetics, and chemical industry products. In terms of food, confectionery products are popular (Kazakhstan has two major high-quality factories), as well as flour, grain products, and sunflower oil. A trading house recently opened in Minsk, which will help further increase bilateral trade,” Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov said.

According to last year’s results, trade increased by 24%, and Belarusian exports grew by 22%, surpassing $1 billion for the first time in history. “The recent visit of Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxm Ryzhenkov to Kazakhstan was very productive: he had a warm meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev [of Kazakhstan], which went beyond protocol thanks to the trusting relationship between our presidents. This gives a strong impetus to the development of cooperation,” the diplomat noted.

The topic of mutual trade was discussed openly. “We understand that sustainable trade means movement in both directions,” Aleksei Bogdanov emphasized.

As for industrial cooperation, Belarus also sees strong prospects. “Assembly facilities for Belarusian machinery operate in Kazakhstan: tractors, harvesters, agricultural machines, elevators. We are exploring the possibility of organizing MAZ assembly, especially all-wheel-drive chassis, which enjoy stable demand,” he said.

The tasks set by the heads of state will be fulfilled. “There is plenty of work ahead, and we are committed to a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership,” the ambassador summarized.
