Belarus’ inflation projected at 2-3% in 2020-2021

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Inflation in Belarus can be expected at 2-3% in 2020-2021, Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky said in an interview to Belarus One TV channel, BelTA informs.

“The inflation should stand at no higher than 2-3%, which is the global trend,” Vladimir Zinovsky said. Such an inflation rate will make the refinancing rate and interests on loans even lower.

The minister said that Belarus can reach this level in a couple of years. “I think we will do this in 2020-2021. There is no other way for us. If we take a look at the recent trend of the reducing inflation, I think it is attainable,” said Vladimir Zinovsky.

As BelTA informed earlier, Belarus registered its record low inflation of 4.6% in 2017.
