MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi on the occasion of the 25th  anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties welcomed the positive momentum in the Belarusian-Indonesian relations, the importance of maintaining a high intensity of interstate contacts at various levels. 

Special consideration was given to the practical issues regarding the development of trade and economic cooperation, including in the context of Indonesia's membership in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Belarus in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Andrei Dapkiunas and Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi pointed to the importance of expanding direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries and the role of the states in creating more favorable conditions for such cooperation. The parties took note of the significant potential for tourism development and humanitarian projects between Belarus and Indonesia.

Belarusian and Indonesian diplomats emphasized the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation and considered topical issues of interaction in international organizations. They also discussed the practicability of the prompt completion of interstate procedures on a number of bilateral documents that create new opportunities for closer cooperation between agencies, economic entities and people of Belarus and Indonesia.
