MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Embassy in Turkey has organized a series of economic events in Turkey’s Konya Province to step up cooperation with the region, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Opportunities for trade, economic and investment cooperation with Belarus were presented at the industrial zone of Aksehir with the support of the town’s chamber of commerce and industry. Attending the presentation were representatives of 16 companies-residents of the industrial zone. Staff members of the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey held negotiations with a number of large industrial companies. The focus was placed on the prospects for trade, industrial, and investment cooperation in production of farm machines and food-processing industry. An agreement was reached with the authorities of the Aksehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize a visit of a Turkish delegation to Belarus for participation in the international expo Belagro 2016 to be held in June.

A number of events were held at the Konya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the administration of the organized industrial zones of the city. A delegation of the Belarusian manufacturer of agricultural machines Gomselmash gave a presentation and held talks with Turkish businessmen.

Besides, members of the Belarusian delegation attended the opening of the international agricultural fair Konya Agriculture 2016 on 23 March. The Belarusian pavilion organized in cooperation with Gomselmash’s partner Paksan Makina featured grain harvesting equipment. Plans have been made to discuss the possibility of exporting Belarus-made grain and fodder harvesters to Turkey and other countries of the region.
