Belarus, Hungary need joint investment projects, advanced industrial cooperation

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary need joint mutually beneficial large-scale investment projects and advanced industrial cooperation, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told media during his official visit to Budapest, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vladimir Makei stressed that efficient trade is not enough for the productive development of the countries. This issue was on the agenda of the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

“We need joint mutually beneficial large-scale investment projects, advanced industrial cooperation with the prospect to penetrate not only the national markets, but also the markets of the EU and the EEU for Belarus and Hungary respectively,” Vladimir Makei said.

In Budapest, the ministers signed a program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Hungary. It provides for concrete events in trade and economy which will help intensify all-round relations. Vladimir Makei expressed confidence that this document will be a kind of a roadmap of cooperation which will make the two countries even closer this year.

Belarus and Hungary have a big economic potential, and Vladimir Makei believes that the countries should step up efforts to use it in full. Today there are many opportunities for cooperation in promising fields, including agriculture, food production, machine-building, pharmaceutics, finance, IT and innovation, construction and tourism.
