Belarus’ grain harvest reaches 9.2m tonnes

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Belarusian farmers have threshed 9.2 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 11 September 2026, grain harvest including rapeseed amounted to 9.205 million tonnes. The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast – 2.415 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1.884 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.676 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 1.209 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 1.093 million tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 968,000 tonnes.

A total of 778,000 hectares have been plowed for winter grain planting or 52% of the plan. Winter grain crops have been sown by all regions of the country across 283,000 hectares or 19% of the plan.

Deliveries under the state procurement order include: 655,000 tonnes of food grain (99% of the target) and 94,000 tonnes of malting barley (109% of the 86,000-tonne target).

Corn for silage has been harvested from 20% of areas.

Second cut was harvested across an area of 945,000 hectares or 94% of the plan.

Hay production has reached 585,000 tonnes or 82% of the plan. Haylage production has reached 12,578,000 tonnes, or 88% of the target. Silage harvest progress stands at 3,775,000 tonnes (18%). Forage grasses total 4,853,000 tonnes.

Fertilizer stocks (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) for winter planting have been procured at 172% of the planned requirement.

Sugar beet has been harvested from 19% of the areas. A total of 892,000 tonnes of sugar beet have been cropped, with an average yield of 430 centners per hectare. By region: Minsk Oblast - 422,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast - 305,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast - 90,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast - 74,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast - 1,000 tonnes.

Potatoes have been harvested from 15% of the country’s areas. A total of 120,000 tonnes of potatoes have been dug up, with an average yield of 355 centners per hectare. By region: Mogilev Oblast - 45,000 tonnes, Minsk Oblast - 24,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast - 19,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast - 14,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast - 10,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast - 8,000 tonnes.
