Belarus’ food export to Kyrgyzstan up by 2.7 times in January-September 2020

Belarus’ food export to Kyrgyzstan up by 2.7 times in January-September 2020

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - Two Belarusian stores "Belovezhsky Gostinets" are popular with residents of Bishkek, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

The new Belarusian food store "Belovezhsky Gostinets" opened in Bishkek at the end of October. Belarusian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko attended an opening ceremony. The first outlet under the brand "Belovezhsky Gostinets" was inaugurated in July this year and immediately began to enjoy success with residents of the capital city,” the embassy said.

The stores offer a wide range of dairy, meat, and confectionery products and groceries, thus helping to promote the export of Belarusian food to Kyrgyzstan.

In January-September of this year, Belarus’ food export to Kyrgyzstan increased by 2.7 times year-on-year to $20 million. The export of cheese and cottage cheese rose by 8.5 times, that of sausages - 2.5 times, canned meat - 1.4 times, and sauces - 6 times.

The embassy noted that cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan has been actively developing in politics, economy and humanitarian affairs. The countries cooperate constructively in international organizations and within the framework of integration organizations: CIS, EAEU, CSTO. The countries support each other on key issues on the multilateral agenda. The legal framework features interstate, intergovernmental and inter-departmental agreements. Minsk played host to the 9th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation at the level of deputy prime ministers in February of this year.
