MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) - Belarus has debuted at Africa's Prime Food, Hospitality & Agriculture Expo FoodAgro running in Nairobi, Kenya on 1-3 August, BelTA learned from the National Marketing Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which acts as the organizer of the Belarus national exposition.
Belarus’ expo features the Belarusian food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, Lidselmash engineering company, Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), automobile engineering company MAZ, Bobruiskagromash, one of the largest producers of mounted and towed agricultural machines, Lidakhleboproduct bakery association, and Smorgon bread products plant.
The opening ceremony was attended by Belarus Ambassador to Kenya Dmitry Kuptel, representatives of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives of Kenya.
FoodAgro is part of Kenya International Trade Exhibition (KITE), the biggest exhibition event in East Africa. This year the exhibition is held for the 22nd time. It is expected that Belarus' participation in FoodAgro will contribute to the promotion of Belarusian agricultural equipment, fertilizers, food and agricultural products on the Kenyan market and will help Belarusian companies to access the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
