Belarus, China’s Fujian mull over joint projects in machine building, electronics

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarus and China’s Fujian Province plan joint projects in machine building and electronics, BelTA learned from the Public Relations Department of the Economy Ministry.

“Belarus’ Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky met with Governor of Fujian Province Yu Weiguo on 13 April to discuss promising cooperation avenues such as automobile manufacturing, electronics, production of construction materials, machine building and establishment of joint innovative enterprises in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone,” the representatives of the ministry explained. The minister invited Yu Weiguo to visit Belarus and to take part in the nationwide universal exposition Euroregion Neman 2017.

Apart from that, Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky attended a mini-forum in the town of Fuzhou. There he held a presentation of the economic potential of Belarus and the Great Stone Industrial Park for the representatives of business circles from Fujian Province.

“The development of relations between Belarus and Fujian Province are at the initial stage right now. Today we have an excellent opportunity to lay a solid foundation for further cooperation. We have to do a lot to reach common goals for building the stable future,” Vladimir Zinovsky said in his remarks. The minister expressed interest in the development of the entire complex of bilateral, first of all, trade and investment ties with Fujian Province. He also hopes that the forum will become a good platform for the establishment of business contacts and the exchange of ideas regarding the development and promotion of business initiatives and joint projects.

Head of the Administration of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone Alexander Yaroshenko, First Deputy Director General of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company Kirill Koroteyev, Deputy Director of the National Investment and Privatization Agency Mikhail Dashuk, Belarus’ Consul General in Shanghai Valery Matsel also delivered reports and held presentations at the forum.

Partaking in the event were about 80 people. The Chinese side was interested in the possibility to implement projects involving electronic and LED products, car components, electronic commerce, the import of Belarusian dairy products, beef, and baby food in Belarus.
