MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Sergei Rakhmanov, Chairman of the International Affairs and National Security Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, met with a delegation of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), BelTA has learned.

China has achieved impressive results not only in the economy in general but also in advanced technologies, Sergei Rakhmanov noted. “Belarus has also obtained great results in high technology and is among the world’s leaders in some areas. We are set to enhance political dialogue with the help of technology dialogue,” he said.

Belarus-China bilateral relations are developing dynamically because the two countries are on the same page about global problems, Sergei Rakhmanov noted. “We believe that the current world order requires some adjusting,” he stressed. “There are a lot of problems related to conflicts and security. Addressing them requires collective effort,” he added.

Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Committee of the CPPCC Xu Yibo who led the delegation supported this opinion. “The most important thing in the political aspect is that our countries regard global problems similarly. We have established the relations of comprehensive strategic partnership, and these words are acquiring more and more practical meaning. In the historical retrospective, these relations are at their best now,” Xu Yibo believes. He agreed that the countries should step up their dialogue not only in politics and economy, but also in advanced technology, education, tourism, and culture.
