MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – Midea Horizont intends to double the production of microwaves in the coming years, Horizont Director General Yuri Predko told the media on 27 November, BelTA informs.

“Midea Horizont now produces 1.1 million microwaves a year. There are plans to double the production output to exceed 2 million items a year (almost 70% of the CIS market). We can handle this task,” Yuri Predko remarked.

The company covers the full production cycle. It operates various departments which can produce 5,500 items a day. The manufacturing process involves cutting-edge equipment: a painting line by Gema (Switzerland), stamps, a Chinese-made welding and assembly line. The joint venture manufactures microwaves of Midea, Horizont, Panasonic, Sharp, Bosch, Redmond, BBK, Steba, Sinbo, Tristar, and Oursson. The share of Midea and Horizont microwaves on the Belarusian market is 45%.

In April 2016, Midea Horizont launched the production of water heaters. “For the time being, it is running in the debug mode. This year, the company will produce over 40,000 items. A task has been set to expand the production to 500,000 items in the years to come,” Yuri Predko clarified.

A ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Midea Horizont took place on 27 November. Cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese companies bolsters economic and cultural ties, noted President of Midea Group Fang Hongbo. He underlined that Belarus is an important hub in the Silk Road Economic Belt and thanked the Belarusian government for the support. Attending the event were representatives of the Belarusian Economy Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Hall, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Trade, and other bodies and agencies.
