MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Belarus has substantially increased its exports of agricultural products to China via commodity exchange trading, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE).
In 2025, enterprises of Belarus’ agro-industrial sector have increased their product deliveries to China through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange tenfold. For instance, while exchange-based agricultural exports to China amounted to just over $2 million in 2024, this figure has already surpassed $21 million in 2025. Key drivers of the sales growth have been such items as flax fiber, milk powder, butter, dry dairy whey, casein, beef, and meat semi-finished products.
“This year, timber products continue to dominate the exports to China via exchange, accounting for 83% of the share. Last year, this figure was 98%. Thus, we observe a clear diversification of export supplies to the Chinese market, primarily due to flax fiber, dairy products, and meat products. Currently, the share of these goods in the total purchase amount by Chinese residents at exchange auctions exceeds 16%. Furthermore, in 2025, Belarusian exporters sold small volumes of metal scrap and waste to China. All this indicates the growing interest of Chinese businesses in purchasing both raw and non-raw materials through the exchange platform. In the future, in addition to increasing trade, this new trend will not only contribute to expanding the product range of mutual exchange trade but also attract representatives from various industries and agriculture of the People’s Republic of China to the exchange,” the BUCE press service noted.
As of 29 December 2025, 347 business entities from the People’s Republic of China were accredited on BUCE. Since the beginning of 2025, the pool of Chinese users of the Belarusian exchange platform has been replenished with 100 new companies.
