MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and China Merchants Group signed a cooperation agreement. The ceremony took place during a meeting between Belarusian honorary consuls and BCCI members, BelTA has learned.

“The BCCI is designed to provide assistance to businessmen. Within the framework of the agreement with China Merchants Group, we will provide expert support for resident companies of the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone and partners of this large Chinese company,” BCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

He stated that China Merchants Group is the largest resident company in the Great Stone industrial park. The company has already invested a lot of money in the park and has built its own logistics center. “These are the opportunities for our business, for the implementation of projects in the new Silk Road. An array of Chinese and European companies would like to use the park to expand cooperation,” the BCCI chairman noted.

Vladimir Ulakhovich emphasized the importance of the honorary consulate for trade and economic relations between countries. “The honorary consul is a person that opens up new opportunities for cooperation. This person knows a lot about business in the country where he or she lives and knows the market gaps which Belarus can fill with its products. Today, Belarus’ guests are honorary consuls from over 50 countries. This shows that Belarus attracts interest across the globe,” Vladimir Ulakhovich summarized.
