Belarus, Argentina’s Santa Fe Province to expand industrial partnership

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Argentina have agreed on further prospects of industrial cooperation. These agreements were reached as Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Belarus to Argentina Yulia Ilyina took part in the international agribusiness expo AgroActiva 2026 in the city of Armstrong, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Argentina.
On the sidelines of the expo the Belarusian side contacted top officials of Santa Fe Province, which is viewed as one of the key footholds for developing trade and economic cooperation and promoting domestic products to the Argentinian market.
During the expo products made by the Belarusian mechanical engineering company OAO Gomselmash were successfully presented. Argentinian agricultural producers are well acquainted with machines and vehicles made by this Belarusian enterprise. Belarusian machines and vehicles are known for their reliability and competitiveness under local conditions. This is why the steady interest from farmers remains in place and work is underway to fulfill previously reached agreements and to process new deliveries.
An additional factor for the development of further cooperation is the already existing industrial partnership between Belarus and Argentina. OAO Gomselmash uses Argentine-made components, which creates prerequisites for even more advanced interaction. Projects to expand manufacturing localization and organize semi-knocked-down (SKD) assembly of specific models of machines and vehicles in the Argentinian territory taking into account the needs of the local market are being considered among the promising areas of cooperation.
In the context of Argentina’s course towards further development of highly efficient agricultural production favorable prospects remain for expanding the presence of agricultural machines and vehicles from Belarus. In a number of areas Belarusian manufacturers offer solutions capable of successfully competing with the products of leading foreign companies in terms of both technical characteristics and economic efficiency. The embassy together with interested Belarusian enterprises continues searching for partners to implement new projects and develop industrial cooperation ties.
AgroActiva is the largest open-air agribusiness expo in Latin America and it is among the largest industry forums in the world. In 2026 the expo brought together more than 1,100 exhibitors on an area of 250 hectares and, according to organizers’ estimates, will attract more than 270,000 visitors from Argentina and other countries. The official opening ceremony was attended by Santa Fe Province officials: the governor, the minister of agriculture, livestock and fisheries, the minister of productive development of the province, other representatives of government agencies as well as the country’s business circles and agrarian community.
