Belarus among Russia’s major trading partners in January-July 2018

MOSCOW, 7 September (BelTA) - Belarus remains Russia’s fourth largest trading partner in the world and first in the CIS, read the statistical data on Russian foreign trade in January-July 2018 released by the Russian Federal Customs Service, BelTA has learned.

In 2017, Belarus was also the fourth largest trading partner of Russia in the world and first in the CIS.

According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, the Belarusian-Russian trade totaled $20.193 billion in January-July, which was up 14.1% as against the same period a year prior.

China, Germany and the Netherlands are ahead of Belarus in terms of trade with Russia. In January-July Russia's trade with China amounted to $59.3 billion (up 29.4%), Germany - $33.7 billion (up 23.6%), the Netherlands - $26.2 billion (up 13.3%).

Belarus outpaced countries such as the USA, Canada, Japan, France, the UK and Italy in trade with Russia in January-July 2018.
