Belarus’ Amkodor, China’s CITIC Heavy Industries plan to co-produce special robots

During the meeting. Photo from the site of the enterpriseMINSK, 15 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor and China’s CITIC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (CITIC HIC) intend to team up to manufacture special robots, BelTA learned from the press service of the holding company Amkodor.

Amkodor and the Chinese companies CITIC HIC and CITIC Сonstruction Co., Ltd. held talks in Minsk. They exchanged opinions on prospects for the production of special robots in Belarus and agreed upon further steps in this direction.

The companies also discussed prospects for the joint production of motors and motor controllers. A state program to develop electric vehicles powered by different energy sources is currently in the works in Belarus.

Established in 1956 as Luoyang Mining Machinery Plant, CITIC HIC is a state-run heavy machinery manufacturer. The company has been affiliated with CITIC Group Corporation since 1993. CITIC HIC is the leading Chinese manufacturer of mining equipment and one of China's largest manufacturers of heavy machinery, mining and cementing equipment, robots, and motor controllers for trucks, cars, and special vehicles.

CITIC Group has a representative office in Belarus and a joint design an engineering company with Belarus’ Belpromproject. The Chinese corporation has also carried out a project to build three cement plants in Belarus and modernized three existing ones. CITIC Group has participated in the construction of the car factory BelGee and the modernization of Orsha Linen Mill. CITIC Group’s calling card is the National Stadium, also known as Bird's Nest, in Beijing.
