MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) - The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Belarus are preparing to launch a pilot project to renovate the P46 motorway Lepel – Polotsk – the Russian border. The project was discussed at a meeting between Belarus Finance Minister Maksim Yermolovich and AIIB President Jin Liqun, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Finance Ministry.

The parties discussed progress in cooperation. In particular, the AIIB president welcomed the development of an important pilot project to renovate a section of the P46 motorway (Lepel – Polotsk – the Russian border).

The parties also touched upon prospects of cooperation, including developing the infrastructure of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, renovating a segment of the M1/E30 motorway (Brest – Minsk – the Russian border), and implementing projects in the manufacturing sector in association with Belarusian banks.

The agenda of the meeting also included the macroeconomic situation in Belarus. Jin Liqun characterized it as stable. In particular, the parties spoke at length about the state budget, the state debt, and cooperation with international financial organizations.
