Belarus’ agricultural export up by 9.7% in January-February

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) - Belarus’ export of agricultural products and food surged by 9.7% in January-February, Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, told the media in Minsk on 8 April, BelTA has learned.

“In January-February of this year, Belarus’ food export rose by 9.7% to amount to $919 million. Revenue increased by $81.5 million over the same period a year prior. The increase in exports was observed in almost all regions. Export to Russia increased by 5.5%, to CIS countries excluding Russia - by 21.8%, Asia and Oceania - 1.9 times, America and the Caribbean - by 29%, the EU - by 50%. The export to the Chinese market grew almost twice. In general, exports to non-CIS countries increased by 34.5%,” Aleksei Bogdanov noted.

Belarus delivered food to 73 countries in January-February 2020 (65 countries in January-February 2019). Export of meat products rose by 7.4% to total $154 million, milk and dairy products - by 14% ($403 million), potatoes - by 10.4% ($9.5 million).
