Belagroprombank, Italian BPER Group sign cooperation agreements

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) - Belagroprombank and the Italian BPER Group concluded agreements on cooperation during the Belarusian-European investment forum in Luxembourg, BelTA learned from the press service of the Bank.

During bilateral meetings and talks held by the delegation of Belagroprombank in Luxembourg, the cooperation agreements were signed with two banks belonging to the BPER Group: BPER Banca SpA and Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna (Europe) International S.A. The agreements will help strengthen long-term partnerships and all-round interaction and support the initiatives of the banks' clients in promoting trade cooperation.

Representatives of Belagroprombank participated in the Belarusian-European Investment Forum. The event has become a universal platform for dialogue between the Belarusian financial institutions and companies and European partners.

Founded in 1867, the BPER Group celebrates the 150th anniversary this year. The Bank is the parent company of the BPER Group which includes a number of commercial banks located in different regions of Italy. The BPER Group operates a network of 1,200 offices in 18 Italian regions. The BPER Group maintains long-term partnerships with leading foreign financial institutions and continuously supports the initiatives aimed at markets that are most attractive for Italian companies planning to grow their business. In 1992 the Bank branched out abroad and opened an office in Luxembourg. The unit was reorganized in 1996 into a subsidiary company Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna (Europe) International S.A. The BPER Group has about 2.2 million customers, mostly small and medium-sized businesses.

Belagroprombank is second largest bank in the Belarusian banking system in terms of assets, capital, retail deposits and corporate loans. The Bank has an extensive branch network in Belarus, more than 100 partner banks worldwide in financing foreign trade. Belagroprombank has about 1.7 million retail customers and approximately 40,000 corporate clients. Standard & Poor's affirmed Belagroprombank’s ratings at “B-” with a stable outlook (which is aligned with the sovereign rating). Belagroprombank has been operating since 1991. The bulk of the Bank's authorized capital belongs to the Republic of Belarus.
